Frequently Asked Questions

Membership Questions

Am I locked into anything when I sign up?

Nope!  Burnout Busters is a straight forward month-to-month membership program. We hope you’ll love it and want to stay, but if you don’t, that’s fine too.

You may cancel your membership at any time. If you want to give it a try for just one month and see how it goes, that is totally fine.

Please note, however, that admission (including readmission) will only be offered a few times per year.

When will the price increase?

Once you join the Burnout Busters Academy, your monthly fee won’t change…ever…at least not as long as your membership is active.

The price for newcomers may change in the future, but it won’t affect you. You’ll just get a better and better deal the longer you stay.

If, however, you cancel your membership and then decide to come back later, you’ll reenter at whatever the going rate is at the time and will lock in at that new price.

How long does the program last?

This is a dynamic program, not a curriculum. The content will be ongoing and based on topics I know are necessary for reversing burnout, restoring hope, and developing resilience, but they will also be structured around the needs of our members.

Some topics (such as safety) may be very broad and deep and it will take several weeks to adequately cover it. Others may be very short and can be covered in a single week. We may also cover seasonal topics or take a pause and address relevant current events.

The topics I choose for each week are loosely structured within a framework that makes sure everything gets covered in the right order, but there is no set agenda to when things get covered.

The program is also set up so that new members can jump in at any point and still benefit from it without feeling like they are falling behind and need to “catch up.”  When I reach the end of topics that are within the scope of this program, I will circle back and repeat them.

Burnout Busters is a month-to-month membership program. Admission will only be offered at certain times during the year.

You may, however, cancel your membership at any time. If you want to give it a try for just one month and see what it’s all about, that is totally fine.

Situation Questions

What if I can't attend all the calls?

Life happens and sometimes things come up. We all understand that!

However, one of the top things most “Trauma Mamas” tell me they want and need for themselves is a realtime connection with other moms who are on this same crazy journey.

Live Mastermind Calls are the heartbeat of this program. This is where relationships are formed and questions specific to your situation get answered.

Call replays will be available for a couple of weeks if you can’t make it to the live call, but they aren’t the ideal way to participate in the program long term.  You’ll get the most out of the program if you can arrange your schedule to participate in the live calls as often as possible.

What if I fall behind?

We take things one topic at a time and tackle them in bite-sized chunks. If you fall behind, it shouldn’t be too difficult to catch up.

However, life is unpredictable. If you miss a few calls or can’t keep up with all the homework, don’t freak out. Take some time to breathe, and then jump back in with us when you’re ready.

The calls, group, and assignments are here to support you and help you move forward, not stress you out. We will eventually circle back and hit all the topics again if you missed something the first time.

**Note** Something you will likely want to consider is that you’ll be locked in at the price offered when you first join, which may or may not be the same price that is offered later on. If something happens and you need to take a break, it may be less expensive in the long run to maintain your membership than it is to cancel it and rejoin at a later time.

What age range do you target?

We have moms of kids of all ages. Some are still young and some have left the nest.

I present things on a general level, but we can easily adapt it and help you apply it to wherever you and your kids are at.

If your kids struggle with issues related to Reactive Attachment Disorder, FASD, complex PTSD, or other issues related to developmental trauma exposure, this is a great place for you to be!

My situation isn't really THAT bad...

I’ve heard this one A LOT!  I even said it myself for a season as well.

If things really aren’t that bad and you’ve got tons of support, this truly may not be what you need.

For most of us, however, we tend to overestimate how well we’re really doing and how long we can keep up the pace.

The sad reality is that if you are a mom of a traumatized kid, there WILL come a time when you will burn out and break…and it will likely happen long before that child gets better.

The sooner you can get the support and skills you need to do this job, the less severe that burnout will be and the easier it will be to climb out of it when it happens.

My situation is beyond awful and I'm REALLY stressed out!
But I’m really stressed and our situation is beyond awful!

Yup. I’ve been there, done that, said it, and lived it. There was a time when I didn’t think anything ever could or would work for us. I was certain we were doomed to live in horrible chaos forever.

I was wrong!

I’ve also never been so glad to be wrong about anything in my life, too.

While there are no guarantees your kids will ever be okay, you can be…and you need to be! The best shot our kids truly have at healing themselves is if we lead the way and show them how to do it through our example.

Though it may seem counterintuitive to add “one more thing” to your already overflowing plate, the stuff that we cover here in the Burnout Busters Academy is the antidote to stress and overwhelm.

It’s the ticket out of hell!

Sometimes when we’re the most tired and the most overwhelmed is when we need the most help. If you’ll commit to digging in and giving it a go, you’ll likely find that stress and overwhelm decrease and your capacity to deal with whatever life throws at you will increase as you do the work that is needed to turn things around.
